It's no wonder that the Audubon Society, Nature Conservancy, and Maine Coast Heritage Trust have all made such strong commitments to Blue Hill Bay. Spectacular wildlife abounds – from sunbathing seals to majestic osprey and eagles, all observable in their natural habitats. Whether you enjoy wildlife or just peaceful scenery, Island Cruises has a great trip for you. Step aboard the 40-foot R.L. Gott for an experience you'll never forget!
Island Cruises offers a Morning Lunch Cruise and an Afternoon Nature Cruise daily, from June 15th through October 1st.
Winding through the islands of Blue Hill Bay, this guided cruise makes its way to Frenchboro, one of Maine’s few remaining offshore fishing villages. Take a short walk around the harbor, visit the museum, and buy lunch at the Dockside Deli (or bring a picnic during the off season – call us for details!) On your return trip, the captain will point out wildlife and haul a lobster trap or two while you view the beauty and serenity of these offshore islands.
Departure Time: 11:00 AM
Return Time: 2:30 PM
Adult Tickets: $29
Child Tickets (11 and under): $18
Enjoy nature at its best! Instead of Frenchboro, we’ll cruise past Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse and experience the outer islands of Blue Hill Bay up close and personal– from ledges where seals sun and swim, to small islands with nesting birds and ducks. When the porpoise are running or the eagles are hunting, we’ll be sure to stop to give our passengers a real treat! Learn about Maine's fishing industry, haul a few lobster traps, and take in the incomparable beauty of the Maine coast.
Departure Time: 3:00 PM (2:45 on Fridays)
